Shocking Revelations

Every morning since I moved in, I have been waking up to an empty apartment. My roommates are all gone by the time I open my eyes. I used to think it was because they just had a lot of shit to do early in the day, but now I'm thinking it's because they secretly hate me because I have food in the fridge, a room to myself, and the only TV with cable in my room. Maybe it really is the former, but that wouldn't be as awesome.

I thought this would be like perpetual summer camp. When will we start braiding hair, baking cupcakes, and trading Powerpuff Girls stickers?

Mis ideas son todavia no bueno. Tambien es mi espanol.

Deuces,
Erika

If I were you I wouldn't waste my time trying to be friends with them, your better off making friends with people outside of the apartment. That way you don't just have your roommates, in case you get in a fight with them or something you have others to hangout with etc.

Don't sweat it, girl! After all, you've been there for such a short time. It's bound to be a little weird at first. Who knows? Maybe the hair-braiding will commence eventually!

If a lot of time goes by and nothing changes, forget them. You might share property, but you've got your own room anyway. You'll be totally good, and like Jtalk said, you'll find great friends in the outside world :-)

Awww thank you Carsi! It's sweet to know that people are like waiting for me to blog...it's very flattering! I'll be over at Missbehave all the time, even when I'm not at home! :)

first week awkwardness is totally normal, Erika. My first week when I was a freshman was SO AWKWARD, especially since I already had friends outside of my room. I was never there and they deemed me the "weirdo". It turned out that the four of them turned into some of my best friends; we all lived together again sophomore year, and me and one of the girls are roomies now in our townhouse/apt thingy. Give it some time, things will work out. Unless you have demon roommates. I've seen/heard/smelled the horror. Don't you love college!? What school are you at?

Thanks Alex. I'm really lucky to be in an apartment instead of a reg tiny ass dorm room so at least I can retreat to my room when things go crizazy. But I don't really know ANYONE since I just moved here to Northridge and all. I'm at school at Cal State Univ of Northridge. Maybe I'll semi stalk that friend of yours...

yeah. my school has all apt style dorms so none of that hallway bathroom nonsense. lol.

but she has no friends either, do stalk! she lives right around the northridge area..granada hills maybe? ill ask her. and i have another friend that lives in northridge too! i wish i could live in cali. boohoo im jealous. tomorrow is my first day of class. *SIGH. only 4 semesters till i grad and become so deeply engrossed in debt that depression will be inevitable! yes!
